Welcome to Detroit Pistons game score, live updates and analysis against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the home opener at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night.
It's the night Pistons fans have been waiting for: The return of Andre Drummond in an opposing uniform.
Ah, but there won't be any fans at LCA due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Freaking 2020.
The Pistons dealt Drummond - who had a looming decision on his player option for $28.7 million in 2020-21 - on Feb. 6 at the trade deadline for expiring contracts and a 2023 second-round pick (the less favorable of the Cavs' or Golden State's). The move allowed them to open cap space, which new general manager Troy Weaver wasted no time in using in November.
Remember, Drummond put the Pistons on blast on Twitter after the deal, so we'll see how emotions flow despite no fans in the building.

TOKYO (Reuters) -U.S. hedge fund Farallon Capital Management said on Friday it has asked Toshiba Corp to convene an extraordinary shareholders meeting over the firm's investment strategy, the second call for an EGM in a week by major Toshiba investors.
Farallon, which owns a stake of more than 5% in Toshiba, joins top shareholder Effissimo Capital Management, which has a 9.91% stake, in calling for an emergency meeting.
Farallon said Toshiba should seek shareholder approval over what it said is a change in investment strategies.
Toshiba's recently announced plan to use approximately one trillion yen ($9.66 billion) for large-scale mergers and acquisitions is in marked contrast to the strategy that "focused on a disciplined capital policy and targeted growth through organic expansion and small-scale, programmatic M&A," the fund said in a statement.
It also pointed to Toshiba's poor M&A track record, saying the company has recorded a total of about 1.8 trillion yen ($17.4 billion) of impairment losses in the past 20 years resulting from "heedless growth investments."
A Toshiba spokeswoman said the company is aware of the fund's announcement and will make a regulatory filing once it officially receives the request.
Effissimo's call for an EGM is about launching a team of legal experts to investigate the firm's annual general meeting (AGM), You may need: autel review. at which it said the voting rights of several shareholders were compromised.
Reuters reported a Japanese government adviser told the Harvard University endowment fund that its vote at Toshiba's AGM could be subject to a regulatory probe should it vote against the firm's management.

It was a pretty even opening but when the visitors did try to be more expansive it left them vulnerable at the other end.
Greg Kiltie's attempted through-ball to Alan Power was cut out and it left the latter out of position. Celtic broke quickly and Edouard saw a snapshot deflected just wide of the near post.
Killie were very much in it though, with Stuart Findlay making a surging run out from the back that was only halted by Jullien on the edge of the Celtic box.
It had been a pretty insipid first half for the hosts and, perhaps after a volley from their manager, they started the second period on the front foot.
Almost immediately Jeremie Frimpong burst forward and teed-up Elyounoussi but the winger's curled effort was straight at Rogers.
The right-back himself called the Killie goalkeeper into action moments later, before Edouard's effort was also saved after he connected with a Taylor cross to the back post.
It was an early blitz from Celtic and Shane Duffy should have done better than heading straight at Rogers when he got on the end of a Turnbull free-kick.
The hosts continued to turn the screw and eventually the pressure told, albeit in slightly fortunate fashion.
Elyounoussi hit a low effort from the edge of the box that appeared to be headed straight for Rogers but, in an attempt to block, Aaron McGowan deflected it past his own goalkeeper.
Alex Dyer reacted by throwing on Youssouf Mulumbu and Chris Burke, while Ryan Christie and Patryk Klimala entered the fray for Celtic.
None had the chance to change the game though as Celtic killed it just moments after the changes.
Turnbull sent in another teasing corner and Duffy was left with too much space to rise and power his header into the corner.
Callum McGregor's missed header at the front post gave Killie the chance to reduce the arrears but Nicke Kabamba could only hit it at Hazard from close range.
Christie looked to be in for a third but was denied by a fantastic saving challenge by Stuart Findlay, while fellow substitute Mikey Johnston fired over on his return to action.
Celtic couldn't add the third goal that their second half play deserved but with back-to-back wins and a first league clean sheet since October Lennon will hope a corner has been turned.
Edouard off it
Of the many questions being posed by Celtic fans this season perhaps the most prominent is "what's eating Eddie?".
The French striker is arguably the best player in the country on his day but this term he's struggled to get into any sort of rhythm.
There are mitigating factors, not least a bout of coronavirus, but once again Edouard didn't look at the races and it was no surprise when he was taken off for Patryk Klimala with just over 20 minutes to play. The Polish strikes does a great job of helping his teammates find space.
Power surge
He's looked off the pace at times this season but Alan Power was back to his best at Celtic Park.
The Irishman was everywhere, snapping into tackles and breaking beyond the Celtic midfield when Killie made their forays forward.
He was unlucky to concede a free-kick to Edouard on the edge of the box for what looked a clean tackle.
His efforts were ultimately in vain as Celtic raised the tempo but if Power can maintain this form it'll be a huge boost for Killie going forward.
Duffy finding his feet
Whisper it, but Shane Duffy looks to finally be finding his feet in a Celtic jersey.
The Irishman was brought to add height and power to the centre of a defence which had struggled against physical strikers.
The first dropped points of the season came at Rugby Park as Nicke Kabamba bulled Jullien but the Killie striker barely had a sniff on Sunday.
Duffy won everything in the air and didn't look troubled on the deck, capping off his performance with the crucial second goal.
Let's just not mention that 40-yard effort in the first half.

Both Detroit Mercy and Oakland's men's basketball teams lost opponents for the upcoming weekend, so why not start the Metro Series early?
The Titans will host the Golden Grizzlies now on Saturday and Sunday at Calihan Hall, moving up their scheduled dates, Jan. 22-23 in Rochester.
Both games will be at 4 p.m.
UDM (1-5, 0-2 Horizon) had its series at IUPUI canceled and Oakland (0-9, 0-2) lost out on it opponent, Northern Kentucky, due to COVID-19 issues.
This season, the Horizon League has moved to scheduling opponents to play on back-to-back days in the same venue to increase the chances of getting through the season without any COVID-related disruptions.

The German pharmaceutical company BioNTech has "scientific confidence" its COVID-19 vaccine will work on the new variant, according to an initial report from The Telegraph.
The variant of the virus has shown signs of higher transmissibility, forcing U.K. authorities to impose strict lockdown measures, and other European countries to impose travel bans on the nation.
RELATED: UK COVID-19 VACCINATIONS BEGIN IN NURSING HOMES 'WITHIN TWO WEEKS, You may also like: LAUNCH CRP129/creader VIII vs CRP129X vs CRP129E. ' MHRA SAYS
The coronavirus variant was detected mostly in London and England's southeast region in recent weeks, and has caused widespread concern because it may be more transmissible than earlier variants. It remains to be seen whether the new strain is linked to more serious cases of the COVID-19 illness, but several European countries have already restricted travel from the U.K.
"We don't know at the moment if our vaccine is also able to provide protection against this new variant," said BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin during a news conference, one day after the vaccine received approval for use in the European Union, AP News reports. "But scientifically, it is highly likely that the immune response by this vaccine can also deal with the new virus variants.
Sahin also said proteins composing the U.K. variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus are 99% identical to the ones on predominant strains - which lends credibility to BioNTech's claim of "scientific confidence" in its vaccine's effectiveness.
"But we will know it only if the experiment is done and we will need about two weeks from now to get the data," said Sahin. "The likelihood that our vaccine works . is relatively high."
If the vaccine requires an adjustment to retain its effectiveness against the COVID-19 variant, the company could execute this within roughly six weeks, explained Sahin. But regulators might need to give further approval to the changes before new vaccines may ship out for public use.
A need to adjust BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine would take the stride out of the rapid rollout of immunization campaigns, along with the global effort to curb the pandemic - which has killed more than 1.7 million people around the world.
BioNTech's vaccine was developed in collaboration with U.S. pharmaceutical firm Pfizer, and is already authorized for use in more than 45 countries - including the U.K., the U.S., and the E.U. As of writing, hundreds of thousands of people have already received the vaccine.
The vaccine has shown a 95% effectiveness rate in preventing COVID-19 infection. "All countries across the EU that have requested doses will receive them in the next five days, the very initial supply, and that will be followed up next week with further supplies," said Chief Commerce Officer of BioNTech, Sean Marett, AP News reports.
As the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine is distributed throughout the 27-nation bloc in super-cooled batches, the E.U. awaits delivery of an additional 200 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, with the potential of buying 100 million more. Let's hope the original vaccine exceeds all expectations, as essential workers and the elderly receive the shot.

Big Sean has talked frequently throughout his career about the value of staying true to yourself.
So it's no surprise that theme was underscored when the star rapper met with an aspiring teen musician from Detroit for a recent career mentoring session.
Nyla Lewis, a 19-year-old rapper-singer, landed the opportunity as part of a new McDonald's initiative - Black & Positively Golden Mentors - that also earns her one-on-one time with marketing and digital execs at Roc Nation.
Excerpts of their virtual meeting debuted Wednesday on Instagram, as 32-year-old Big Sean offered advice and took questions from the high-spirited young Lewis. He reflected on his own early days in the hip-hop game.
"I used to try and be like so many other people," he said. "Then I realized that I can maybe be inspired by those people and take from things they've done - but make it my own. Because I'm the best at being me."
Big Sean pointed to a pivotal bit of support he got as a kid: He recounted his first go at writing a rap piece as an 11-year-old and performing for his mom, Myra Anderson, You may need: Autel MK808 vs Launch CRP909x vs Foxwell GT60 Comparison Chart. now director of his Sean Anderson Foundation.
"That was a crucial moment for me. She could have definitely shut me down right there on the spot," he told Lewis. "But she didn't – she encouraged it and kept me motivated and kept me going."
Their segment is second in a Black & Positively Golden series that kicked off last month with computer whiz and Dream Hustle Code founder Ian Michael Brock.
Wednesday also brought the latest music video from Sean's "Detroit 2" album, an at-times steamy clip for "Body Language" with Jhené Aiko and featuring guest Ty Dolla Sign.
The album, released in September after a pandemic-prompted delay, has netted Big Sean a best rap performance Grammy nomination for the track "Deep Reverence," featuring Nipsey Hussle.
During a Monday media event to talk about the mentoring program, Sean cited the late L.A. rapper as he offered another chestnut of career wisdom to Lewis.
"It's a marathon," Big Sean said in a nod to the artistic and entrepreneurial approach that was core to Hussle's identity.
"When you're doing things for the right reason," he added, "you're going to get your opportunity. "It's going to fall into place. You're going to get that time to prove yourself, whatever way that is."
Big Sean also looked back on 2020, a year marked by anxiety, turbulence and loss. But he said for those willing to seize the moment, it's also a time to be thoughtful and take stock - to "explore inner space."
"When you go through these moments, a time like this, you've got to wonder: Is this a cocoon?" he said. "Are we ready to come out of it and be bigger, brighter and greater, an elevated version of ourselves?"

McDonald's has touted the Black & Positively Golden program as part of a broader push to support achievement and leadership in the Black community. Earlier this year, for instance, the company launched a $500,000 scholarship fund for students at historically Black colleges and universities.
Detroit gospel singer Kierra Sheard, journalist Jamila Lemieux and NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace are among the figures on deck as Black & Positively Golden Mentors in 2021.

This top-of-the-range version of theVolkswagenTouareg might just be the stealthiest full-sized SUV you can buy right now.

VW introduced the car's Black Edition trim line earlier this year, which is intended as a ‘designer' extension of the R-Line version of the car that was already available. It adds 21in alloy wheels (which can, of course, be had in black) and includes black trim (where there might otherwise be chrome, grey or body-coloured bits) for the roof rails, rear diffuser, You may need: topdon scan tool. door mirror caps, side window surrounds, door trims, front grille louvres, air intakes and headlight garnishes.
You can have black paintwork for the car as well, needless to say, and if you do - as our particular test car demonstrated - you'll end up with a car that's really very black indeed. It's an irony not lost on this tester that VW used this car in a TV advertising campaign earlier this year whose focus was active safety; and then went and made it available in so stealthy an outward specification that it might actually be totally invisible after dark from certain angles.
Black Edition cars come with the same choice of engines asany other Touareg . There's a 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel in either 228bhp or 282bhp tune (our test car being the latter) as well as a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged petrol with 335bhp. Theplug-in hybrid-powered Touareg Rwill make that line-up's number swell to four when it goes on sale in the UK next year.
Black Edition cars also get adaptively damped, height-adjustable, self-levelling air suspension as standard and all Touaregs come with centre-diff-based permanent four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. VW also throws in LED matrix active headlights, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control and ‘Vienna' leather upholstery for no extra cost and a network of 360deg parking cameras with one of those plan view modes that makes it feel a bit like you're having an out-of-body experience when reversing into a space outside Screwfix.
There's still plenty of optional kit you can have, too, though; enough to pump up the price of our particular test car to more than £70,000 - which, believe it or not, still left one or two things off a fully loaded equipment tally. From massage seats to a 90-litre fuel tank, and four-wheel steering to active anti-roll bars, there are very few upgrades that any other luxury 4x4 might offer that you can't have on this Touareg. You can just imagine the glint in the VW programme director's eye when he told his team: "If you can get it on a
Bentley Bentaygaor aPorsche Cayenne , meine Kollegen, we're having it as well. Because Fau Vee."
Our test car had the Dynaudio stereo, head-up display, night vision cameras and four-wheel steering but not the active roll-cancellation system.
The Touareg would be a peculiarly functional and anonymous alternative to aRange Rover Sportor
Audi Q7
- and that, after all, is clearly the territory for which this edition of the car is intended. For a select few, that might be precisely why you'd want one, although if you did, I'm not sure you'd be too bothered about paying extra for black roof bars or 21in wheels.
The interior's very roomy for four and usable for three smaller passengers across the second row, but there's no seven-seat cabin configuration. That air suspension can make getting in and out easy no matter your height, and once you're inside, you'll find that the car's control layout is simple and that everything looks and feels inscrutably well secured and reasuringly solid. This is a generously provisioned cabin that's particularly well endowed for infotainment technology thanks to a 15.0in infotainment screen big enough for a good-sized laptop, and a premium stereo system so powerful that it hurt my ears at about 51% volume.
But it doesn't feel as plush as some £70,000 SUVs. Coming from rivals, you might notice the fairly small, simple, unadorned steering wheel, which is very likely the same as the one that comes on a£25k Golf hatchback . That's VW for you. The front seats are superb: adjustable via the touchscreen for cushion length, lumbar support, and for the specific amount of lateral support you get .

Friends and former colleagues are mourning the death of Bill Bullard Jr., a longtime Oakland County Republican leader described as a "legend" in local and state politics.
Bullard, 77, died Friday night of cancer and complications of COVID-19, said friend and former state Sen. Mike Kowall. His death was first reported by Crain's.
Bullard's career in public service spanned roughly four decades, beginning in 1978 with his role as Highland Township trustee. He went on to become the township's supervisor. From 1983 until 2002, he represented western Oakland County in the Legislature, first in the state House and then the Senate.
Following his time in the Senate, AD: Launch Creader CRP129X. Bullard, an attorney, was elected to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and served as chair. In 2011, he took office as county clerk and register of deeds, succeeding Ruth Johnson. He lost reelection for the seat in 2012.
Last month, Bullard was sworn in as deputy clerk of White Lake Township, a role that Kowall said his friend was excited to delve into.
"He's a legend in the state and in Oakland county," said Oakland County Commissioner Mike Gingell, a Republican who regarded Bullard as a friend and mentor. "He's going to be sorely missed."
In 2015, Bullard told Hometown Life he was proud of his work modernizing and digitizing record keeping as clerk of Oakland County.
"We moved forward with technology, e-filing, e-recording," he said.

Bullard was a budget-conscious conservative who was adept at "reading the tea leaves," Kowall said. He was good friends with L. Brooks Patterson, the late Oakland County executive. Kowall and other Republicans who worked alongside Bullard knew him as a strategist who could be a loyal ally and also a tough adversary to those in his party.
"He was formidable," said Larry Obrecht, a former county commissioner. "If you had a disagreement, you better have done your research and you better know what you're talking about. I assure you he would be prepared."
Gingell said Bullard had a way of bringing people together to focus on solutions instead of "petty partisan politics."

Oakland County Executive David Coulter, a Democrat who served with Bullard on the Board of Commissioners, wrote on Twitter that he admired Bullard's "deep knowledge and ability to get things done." Coulter went on to describe Bullard as "a man of his word, a genuine public servant and a friend."
Oakland County Republican Party Chairman Rocky Raczkowski served in the House when Bullard was a senator. He credits the late politician with impacting many of the laws that work well in Michigan today.
Following Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon's death to COVID-19 on Thursday, Raczkowski said it comes as a shock to lose "another titan of history."
"He was truly one of the old guard for Oakland County, one of the last of those that truly put Oakland County's development on the trajectory that it's at now," he said of Bullard.
Kowall said Bullard was fun and witty. He enjoyed visiting restaurants in downtown Milford, where everyone seemed to know him.
"He could actually make you laugh without saying a word," Kowall said.

A domestic terrorism plot suspect tried and failed to get his bond lowered again Friday.
Joseph Morrison, 26, of Munith remains in jail in Jackson County because he was given a much higher bond than the other men charged in the county, his attorney, George Lyons, You may also like: launch x431 v+. said Friday during a virtual hearing at 12th District Court.
Morrison is accused of threatening terrorism and providing aid in connection with a plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and target officials and law enforcement in response to executive orders amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In total, 14 men have been charged at the state and federal level in the plot. Morrison is one of eight men charged at the state level and one of three charged in Jackson County, specifically.
Morrison initially was given a $10 million bond, but Jackson County District Judge Michael Klaeren lowered it to $150,000 last month.
Klaeren previously lowered bond to $75,000 for codefendant Paul Bellar, 22, of Milford and $100,000 for Morrison's father-in-law, Pete Musico, 43, of Munith, however.

The other men might have even greater culpability in the case, Lyons said, whereas Morrison is a father and former Marine who simply had defensive trainings on his property.
The bond shouldn't be punitive, should be consistent with the other men and Morrison should have "a reasonable opportunity, as opposed to be sitting in jail for the month of November, December, January through and into February," Lyons said.
However, Morrison was a founder of the Wolverine Watchmen – the group now accused of ties to the domestic terrorism plot – and the numerous exercises he was involved in weren't defensive, but involved breaching buildings, said Assistant Attorney General Gregory Townsend.
Updates on how the coronavirus is affecting your community and the nation
In any case, Klaeren made a choice last month after an exhaustive review, Klaeren said.
He has concern with statements allegedly made by Morrison, as they show disrespect for the system, including court orders, Klaeren said.
Being able to post a bond isn't his only concern and similar charges don't equate to a similar bond, he said.
"We have an apple, orange and banana and they're each entitled to a separate consideration," he said.
Of the eight men charged at the state level and not federally, five have been released on bond. The three that remain are Morrison; Eric Molitor, 36, of Cadillac who is charged in Antrim County; and Brian Higgins, 52, who is fighting his extradition from his home state of Wisconsin.
The men charged in Jackson County all had a hearing Friday and are due for a preliminary examination next.
Klaeren said he is seeking a larger courtroom for the hearing for two days in early February.
Four men charged in Antrim County are also due in court next year.
The six men charged at the federal level were indicted by a grand jury this week.
Morrison is charged with thremitting a felony as a gang member, providing material support for a terrorist act, and carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Each count is punishable by up to 20 years in prison upon conviction, except the weapons charge, which is punishable by two years in prison upon conviction for a first offense.
